The civil commissioner uses a different variant of the flag having a Union Jack with the coat of arms in a white disc in the middle. The coat of arms is made up of a shield having a lion holding a lantern. On the right side of the shield, holding the shield is a Macaroni Penguin and on the left side a fur seal. At the top of the shield is a Reindeer and at the bottom is a yellow banner with the motto “Leo Terram Propriam Protegat” which translates to let the lion protect its land.
