Where is Jersey?
Located in Western Europe, Jersey is an island nation. It has a 70.00 km coastline.
The Capital of Jersey is Saint Helier. It is also one of the twelve perishes of Jersey. Named after St. Helier, a Frank missionary who is reported to have been martyred there in 555, the town lies along St. Aubin’s bay opposite L’lslet, a tidal island. Before the 18th Century, Saint Helier only had a string of houses, warehouses, shops and a market place. It originated as a fishing village beside a parish church, where the king’s court usually met. It however became the seat of the island's government after Elizabeth Castle was built. Its location is thought to have been settled on during the Roman control of Gaul. A greater part of St. Helier is rural, with its suburbs sprawling into St. Lawrence and St. Clement.
